The Owl's Nest is a very unique home that's perfect for anyone who appreciates architecture. It has a long beautiful kitchen with amazing windows and forest views, a gorgeous vaulted wood ceiling, & a neat little crows nest type sitting area, & sauna
This architecturally stunning home makes you feel like you’re up in a unique tree house. The main floor has a long-extended kitchen with beautiful windows that look into the serene mossy covered trees. There's a gorgeous river rock, wood burning fireplace, under a tall cedar vaulted ceiling with crossbeams that makes the home feel so impressive and cozy. There is a fun little sitting area perched high up as a third story that feels like a little nest with two comfortable rocking recliners. The first time my husband and I walked into this home we kept saying to each other how neat and unique it was. We fell in love with it at first sight.
The Layout and Details:
Upon entering there is a little mudroom with a second door into the main home. Just inside there is a little landing area with stairs going both up and down, and a little coat hanging space.
Heading up the stairs you'll find a bathroom to your right with a corner shower stall, and a small staircase heading to the third floor sitting nook which has full windows on two sides, and a fun and relaxing feel.
The cozy living room has a gorgeous floor to ceiling, wood burning, river rock fireplace, with enough wood and a Firestarter to get you started, and several battery candles that give a relaxing ambiance. The gorgeous crossbeam high peaked ceilings give this home such an impressive feel. Above the fireplace is a large flat screen smart TV where you can hook up to your Netflix, Amazon Prime, or other streaming aps you may have. There is a DVD player and an impressive DVD collection provided. Straight in front of you is a beautiful cedar kitchen with long granite counter tops, and windows looking out at the serene forest around you. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, spices, and a Keurig pod coffee machine so you have everything you need to dine in, or we provide a binder with info on local restaurants in case you prefer dining out. One thing to note is that the kitchen itself has only a mini fridge due to the architectural ceilings and space, but it does have a large ice maker in it, and there is a full regular sized fridge with attached freezer downstairs in the first-floor laundry room. We do provide a big basket for bringing items back and forth. If you are planning to do a lot of cooking, please consider in advance whether or not this may impact your experience so you can look elsewhere if it will be a notable problem for your group. We find it’s generally not an issue as you can put your frequently used items such as milk, creamer, or drinks in the small fridge and when you’re ready to prepare a meal you just take one quick trip downstairs for the ingredients, load them in the basket and return them when you’re finished.
To the left of the kitchen is a small bar counter sitting area, and in front there's an island with bar stools for your dining. The open concept area allows those relaxing in the cozy living room to visit with anyone in the kitchen if they’d like, and there’s enough seating for 6 people.
The main floor here has a mini split for air conditioning. While there is no A/C in the 1st floor of the home, it stays very nice and cool down there in the summer. Every single room in the house has its own heater so that everyone can find their preferred temperature.
There are glass French doors which open onto the enclosed deck surrounded by gorgeous mossy covered trees where there's a cozy hot tub, and a large sitting area with chairs, and a propane fire table.
Heading down to the first floor there is a little nook in the stairwell with a desk, and a very spacious bathroom on your right. The bathroom has a large 2 person soaking tub with jets where you can relax and soak your cares away, and also a corner shower stall.
Along the hallway there are three bedrooms all with queen sized beds, a laundry room at the end with a regular full-sized fridge with freezer, and on the left is a cozy cedar sauna where you can detox and relax.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
This home currently uses the WIFI from the neighbor’s home due to limited service connections in our area. There is a Wi-Fi extender in the home, but it works best in the kitchen and living area. Downstairs, on the first floor in the bedrooms and bathroom Wi-Fi signal is limited and slower. While this has never been a problem in the past, if a great Wi-Fi connection and strong signal are important for your stay this home may not be the best choice for you. We DO NOT give refunds for poor or lack of Wi-Fi since we do warn guests here. High speed fiber internet is currently being installed in this community and we anticipate it will be here by Spring, but there is no guarantee on a time frame, and we cannot give cancelation refunds because you hoped this would be installed and ready by the time of your stay. Please consider this and book accordingly. We appreciate your understanding while these issues are out of our control.
~We can not guarantee hot tub will be hot and ready the night of your arrival. It depends on how the previous guests treated it and if we have to drain it, but we will do our best to have it ready.
~ PLEASE NOTE: This driveway can hold 3 vehicles. NO PARKING is allowed on the road edges, vehicles must be completely in the driveway. We really appreciate your cooperation, and apologize for any inconvenience.
