Mt. Baker Ski Area is finally open for the 2021/2022 season!
Here’s a beautiful little sneak peak of Church Mountain from a driveway. It was so gorgeous tonight with the sunset and the snow! Winter is definitely here now in Glacier, and the Mt. Baker Ski Are will be opening soon!
Mt. Baker Ski Area is hoping to partially open on Tuesday December 14th for pass holders only, and fully open on Wednesday December 15th.
Stay tuned for confirmation soon!
My family headed over to the Skyline Chalet this week and tried out the fire pit while toasting some yummy marshmallows.
Did you know that in Glaicer there are such strict fire rules that most properties are not actually allowed to have fires in their yards while complying with the rules?
The Skyline Chalet is one of the few homes that actually complies with the rules. The large fire pit in the yard is open year round except during specific burn bans, so bring your marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers and enjoy this beautiful fire pit outside of our luxurious home!
We were recently offered the opportunity to take over management of the beautiful, well known, Skyline Chalet. This luxurious newly built home is located in the heart of the Mt. Baker wilderness, and is among the closest lodging to the Mt. Baker Ski Area. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and comfortably sleeps 6. It has a private hot tub, and a community swimming pool in summer, and it’s dog friendly.
We are accepting early reservations now through the “All Properties” tab of our website. More photos, info, and a homepage listing are all coming very soon! Stay tuned-
The temps are dropping and the mountains are calling! Mt. Baker Seasons Passes went on sale yesterday September 15th 2021 for last years (2020-2021 season) pass holders, and for our Canadian neighbors who were pass holders for the 2019-2020 season.
After September 30th, the Mt. Baker Ski Area will assess how many passes were sold and how many more they can sell for the upcoming 2021-2022 season.
On Oct. 1st they will announce whether or not they can sell more passes for the season. If they can then passes will go on sale to the general public starting October 4th.
Pass sales may be capped at any point starting September 30th, so get in and get your passes early!
Bright red berries in fall at the Mt. Baker Ski Area/ Artist Point.
Fall is such a beautiful time of year up at the Mt. Baker Ski Area, and Artist Point. This photo was just taken and you can see the leaves of the blueberry bushes just started to turn red. In another few weeks the ground will be covered in amazing bright reds, yellows, and oranges of these little blueberry bushes. Fall tops all the other seasons for me as my favorite time to go explore these amazing mountains that I am so fortunate to call my home!
I have been an absolute animal lover my entire life! I love when my guests share their photos and stories of their pets with me while they are staying at my rentals! Tonight I received this sweet note from our guests at The Winchester Peak Chalet about their sweet rescue Nigel who had a terrible beginning but now has a beautiful life!
“Hi Rheannon! I wanted to share these photos of Nigel with the pet toy you so kindly provided. We actually forgot to bring any of his toys and he quickly adopted this one.
Thanks so much!
B & D
PS Nigel is a very well behaved rescue dog from Cabo. He was used as a bait dog in pit bull fights where he lost an eye. Good friends of ours rescued him about 18 months ago and we are the lucky ones!”
Although reading Nigel’s story is so heartbreaking, it also fills my heart with joy to see him happy and free! While visiting us here at Mt. Baker Rim he gets to head on over to the dog off leash area and run and play by the river and relax by the cozy fire in the evening. I’m so thankful for people like his mom and dad B & D who have hearts of gold and give these kinds of dogs the life they deserve! ❤️
I never get tired of taking in the beauty of this area! I took this photo of Mt. Baker tonight on my evening walk around Mt. Baker Rim with one of my boys and our pup Layla.
