Canyon Creek Rd. Expected to open mid September 2018

Canyon creek rd. has been closed for a few years cutting off access to a few great local hikes such as the Damifino Lakes home. Crews are beginning work now to fix Canyon creek rd., and it is expected to open sometime mid September 2018. Crews are asking for general public to avoid the area until work is completed.

Below is the info. The highway administration has shared.

The Federal Highway Administration and their contractor (Western Refinery Services) have moved in on the MP 6.70 repair on 31 Road and MP 0.60 repair on 3140 Road. The FHWA and their contractor legally have the road for five weeks meaning that Canyon Creek Road is going to be officially closed to all pedestrian, cycle, equestrian and motorized traffic beyond MP 5.70 gate. With the volume of imported rock and waste material they will be hauling, for safety’s sake, they hope to discourage traffic up from the Mt. Baker Highway”
